Allergic asthma treatments

I got a great reader question yesterday: “Jess, if you could only choose one allergic asthma treatment to use forever, which would you pick?”

I’ve talked about my favorite allergic asthma treatment before–it’s the hot water with lemon juice. It’s my go-to whenever I notice tightness in my breathing or wheezing and I reach for it before reaching for traditional treatments (make sure to check with your doctor about this–it’s not the right approach for everyone).

But, while I’m answering the question, I also wanted to point you to another couple of great choices:

While I can absolutely understand wanting to have one specific type of treatment that you return to again and again, I’ve also found that it’s smart to have many that I rely on to keep me breathing easily. That’s because sometimes I need to try several things, and also because sometimes I just plain don’t want do one of my typical treatments (and, sometimes, I’m out of lemon juice or apples, so it’s always good to have options.

Do you have a typical “go to” treatment that you find makes you consistently feel better? I’d love to hear it!

Hiya! I'm Jess. I was diagnosed with allergy-induced asthma about two years ago.

Since then, I've found that my asthma symptoms are a great barometer of just how well I'm taking care of myself. On days when I practice self care, I breathe easier than on days when I don't.

Now that I've gotten a handle on my own symptoms I wanted to create a place where I could share what's worked for me and hear from *you* on what helps to treat your allergic asthma symptoms. Welcome to my site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
