Energy Healing for Better Breathing

For the last year, I’ve been seeing a Barbara Brennan energy healer. To some, this might seem very “woo woo” or even like a big waste of money. But, for me, it’s made a huge difference in my breathing. In fact, I’ve found that in the last six months (usually my worst time for allergy asthma symptoms) I’ve been breathing better than I had in years. There’s no congestion, no wheezing, no being out of breath just from walking around the block.

I do still sometimes get winded talking on the phone to two people in particular, but other than that, I’m breathing much easier.

There are some doctors who believe that asthma is an entirely emotional disease, and while I completely disagree, I do think that there is sometimes an emotional component. I know for myself, that feeling congestion can sometimes cause me to panic, and that definitely makes my allergic asthma worse. But I also think there are health problems behind asthma–I don’t think it’s “in your head” (or mine!) unlike some medical doctors.

Working with an energy healer is very simple. Usually, you find a healer you’d like to work with, in person or over the phone, and then for your appointment, you take off your shoes and lie down. If you’re working with someone in person, they often have you lie down on a massage table (face up) while they move their hands either just above your body, or perhaps touching you in spots. The healers I’ve worked with have all been very polite–if I wasn’t comfortable being touched that day, they were quite willing to work at a little distance away from my skin. When you work with an energy healer for asthma at a distance, you’ll usually talk a bit by phone before the session, then take off your shoes and lie face up somewhere comfortable. They’ll do their thing, and you simply relax and stay as still as you can.

If you’re doing healing sessions at a distance, it’s important that you shut out distractions as much as possible. Don’t get up to answer the phone or to handle a squabble between your kids. If you know you won’t be able to shut out distractions, that’s a good reason right there to see someone in person instead of at a distance.

I’ve had other benefits of my energy healing beyond the better breathing. I’m feeling calmer, I’m better able to deal with the energy vampires in my life, and I’m much more creative than I was. What’s more, my body feels more flexible and I’ve experienced much less back pain over the last year than I had experienced previously.
