Healing Music to Improve Breathing

Many doctors have reported the healing powers of music, and today as I was listening to Pandora and yet another song about heartbreak came blasting through the speakers, I started thinking… What if the music you and I are listening to is having a negative impact on our breathing? What if all those songs that are so much fun to sing along with, make it harder for our bodies to heal.

Now, I’m not suggesting you go and give up your favorites, but what I was thinking (for me) was that I’d like to add in some intentionally healing music. So, I began my search with Google and found there are *so* many choices out there. I’ve just ordered a handful of new CDs and will report back on which ones I like best. In the meantime, if you have a favorite, I’d love to hear it!

What do you think? Have you noticed yourself feeling more tense after listening to certain types of music? Do you find certain music improves breathing? I’d love to know what you’ve observed about your breathing and your health.

Hiya! I'm Jess. I was diagnosed with allergy-induced asthma about two years ago.

Since then, I've found that my asthma symptoms are a great barometer of just how well I'm taking care of myself. On days when I practice self care, I breathe easier than on days when I don't.

Now that I've gotten a handle on my own symptoms I wanted to create a place where I could share what's worked for me and hear from *you* on what helps to treat your allergic asthma symptoms. Welcome to my site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
