Allergy asthma relief through good nutrition

It’s common for nutritionists to link the latest super food to every medical condition from allergy asthma relief to gout relief, so you’ve probably become acccustomed to ignoring these far-fetched claims. Me too!

So, that’s why when my doctor recently recommended I add ground flax seed to my morning oatmeal and see if that offered allergy asthma relief, I didn’t have high hopes. But, he had read several studies on the subject and because Flax does offer big nutritional benefits (especially by lowering cholesterol and by being a good source of alpha linolenic acids), I decided to give it a try.

What I’m finding so far is that I really enjoy the nutty taste the ground flax seed adds to the steel cut oats, and though I’ve only been using it for about three weeks, with the holidays coming (when allergy asthma can worsen due to stress), I wanted to share what I’ve learned so far about childhood allergy asthma and flax seed.

If you try adding gound flax seed to your diet (after talking to your doctor, of course), I’d love to hear how it works for you.

Hiya! I'm Jess. I was diagnosed with allergy-induced asthma about two years ago.

Since then, I've found that my asthma symptoms are a great barometer of just how well I'm taking care of myself. On days when I practice self care, I breathe easier than on days when I don't.

Now that I've gotten a handle on my own symptoms I wanted to create a place where I could share what's worked for me and hear from *you* on what helps to treat your allergic asthma symptoms. Welcome to my site. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
